Rusty Legs fall at first Game

Despite last years effort not to be promoted, the engineers find themselves playing Division 1 football this season. The bookies favorites to return back to division 2 travelled to Eversheds for the first game at the powerleague. Kick off time passed with only 5 players managing to reach the game on time through early christmas late night traffic. New goalkeeping signing Sherbut "the Cat" Scrooge provided the early entertainment, watching a shot swerve and curl through his arms into the net.... clearly money had changed hands before the game. Eversheds, always the stronger side, continued to attack through a solid defence. Manager Rixx pointed out solid equals static and he was right. Woodsy and Stuart provided the attack force and with the score at 4-3 it looked like the engineers might just rescue a point. Rixxy again used his banana boots to full effect and the final score ended 6-4 in favour of Eversheds who begin with a flying start. Its going to be a long hard season for the youthful engineers.
