AC Leigh 2 Blue Door 10

The Blue Door closes on A.C.Leigh

After a disapointing result the week before A.C.Leigh were looking for there first home win as they took on Blue Door at power league. After some debate about the amount of air in the ball and as the fog got thicker Blue Door kicked off. The game started off well for A.C.Leigh with some good movement both on and off the ball and after 5 mins Crofty skipped his way through the Blue Door defence and netted the ball in the top left A.C.Leigh were one up. It was obvious however that Blue Door were not just going to roll over and were showing good ball control and abit of fancy foot work. They came straight back on the attack and were soon troubling the A.C.Leigh goal. A couple of mins later the A.C.Leigh goal keeper touched the ball outside the area and Blue Door insisted that a penalty rather than (as the rules state) a free kick should be awarded. The obvious happened from the spot kick and it was all level. After that A.C.Leigh seemed to fall apart, everywhere they kicked the ball there was a Blue Door player and and everywhere Blue Door kick the ball the A.C.Leigh goalie wasn't (Sorry boys!!) and goal after goal came. Crofty managed to find the back of the net again before half time but as they went into the break they were 8-2 down. The second half started much as the first ended with A.C.Leigh not marking as well as they should and soon the 9th went in. Then after 10 mins an A.C.Leigh player was helped from the pitch feeling unwell, the game continued but after another 5 mins shouts from the side line that he had taken a turn for the worst saw the goalie run from the pitch to find Tigg having an epilectic fit. An ambulance was called and as we waited in the freezing cold for it to arrive Blue Door kicked the ball about & showed their true compasion by hitting the ball against the board right by where he lay in the recovery postion & enquiring wether the game would continue or not and if not what the final score would be as the full game had not been played! After a quick check over at the hospital I can report that Tigg was discharged and is fine and ready for the next game (and the re-match!!).
